The Gestalt Institute of Central Ohio provides extensive, innovative training to therapists and other professionals in Gestalt theory and practice to apply Gestalt principals to individual, marital, family, child, and group therapy as well as to organizational and business consulting development. The Institute's Postgraduate Training Program for mental health professionals provides:

TRAINING in psychotherapy, counseling, and organizational consulting using Gestalt Theory and methods;

OPPORTUNITIES for personal growth and development as practitioners and lay people;

UNDERSTANDING of Gestalt theory and methods of working with individuals, groups, children, families, organizations, and communities.

The training program is designed for the working professional or full-time graduate student and eventually becomes a fundamental component of their career development process. It requires the trainee to attend four weekend sessions a year for three years and includes an individual Gestalt psychotherapy requirement.

Organizational, business, and process consultants are accepted into the training. They attend the first two years of the post-graduate training program and then have a special third year. During the first two years the consultant learns to work with individuals and small systems using foundational gestalt experiences to promote change. During the third year the consultants begin their own track where they learn the models of consulting, leadership, management, and advance process.

Finally most professionals leave their graduate program looking for a more comprehensive and integrated approach to psychotherapy and change. Over the last forty years, we at the Gestalt Institute of Central Ohio have heard that over and over again. Our program is a way to resolve that issue. Our training allows the clinician and organizational consultant to develop an integrated approach to psychotherapy using the same methodology to work with all groups, couples, families and organizations. Our training helps the therapist learn a concrete framework and skill set that becomes the foundation of the clinical practice.
