Parenting Work

Over the last 40 YEARS clinical director Norman Shub and lead child therapist Margie Mapes RPT-S have worked to develop a model of helping parents understand and learn effective skills of parenting. This model known as Parenting Work is often used for:

  • parents who are coming to Gestalt Associates seeking parenting skills
  • parents whose children are coming to Gestalt Associates for their own help
  • parents who need to work along with the child to help the child be more successful
  • parents who are interested in becoming more effective at parenting
Parenting Work is a time tested model of parental therapy that is not only used at Gestalt Associates but has been taught to parenting therapists around the world by Norman Shub. In addition to the Parenting Work model, Gestalt Associates offers Parenting from Your Heart, a parent training experience that has been offered for many years and has reached thousands of parents. Parenting from Your Heart is an educational and therapeutic experience, which complements our Parenting Work. Many participants find benefit in both.
